After clearing waivers, White and Hunter bought out by Devils (updated)

Having gone unclaimed during the 24-hour waiver period, recently acquired forward Trent Hunter and former Albany River Rats defenseman Colin White have been bought out by the New Jersey Devils.

Hunter, who was acquired last week in a trade with the New York Islanders for former Rats forward Brian Rolston, carries a buyout price of $2,666,667, which will be spread over four seasons.

White, who played a total of 205 games for Albany between 1997-98 and 1999-2000, carries a buyout price of $2 million spread over two seasons.

With the buyouts now completed, both players become unrestricted free agents.
